“poeceptible” by xiaobi pan transforms ancient chinese poetry into a virtual reality (VR) experience.
“Poeceptible” is a new type of VR calligraphic poetry that weaves sonic, visual and semantic poetry altogether. The purpose of Poeceptible is to enable a global audience, and even the new generation of Chinese with little traditional art education to rediscover the intrinsic modernist beauty of Chinese painting, poetry and calligraphy as a whole.
In VR, viewers are able to travel through a 3-dimensional animation of contextual calligraphics accompanied by the poem-reciting soundtrack. They can look at the “poem”, look through the “poem”, hear the “poem”, and feel the “poem“. Credit: xiaobi pan
