Virtual reality (VR) data visualization for farming agribusiness.
In the past, farmers would treat fields in a uniform manner. However, the advent of the Global Positioning System, coupled with precision farming technologies, now allows growers to collect data on a much smaller scale. This benefits farmers by allowing them to treat specific areas of a field according to its unique makeup.
In this view, a landscape containing our field was displayed on a kitchen table, similar to environment where many farmers and agronomists will meet to discuss farm management decisions.
Using mixed reality, the farmer and agronomist can view and discuss at multiple scenarios viewing 3D data visualization without having to flip through bulky map books or flip through screens on a tablet computer.
Mixed reality also allows all parties access to specific parts of the data while collaborating from different locations or for data to be collected while in the field. Credit: Taqtile
